March-In Provisions
When Essential Inventions Inc. filed petitions with the NIH in spring 2004 to invoke the march-in provisions of the Bayh-Dole Act to invalidate exclusive drug patents, AUTM mobilized and drafted a letter to the NIH. Read the full text of the letter.

Sovereign Immunity
The AUTM Executive Committee and Board of Trustees agreed that it is in AUTM's interest to formulate a response to the proposed S.2031 - the Intellectual Property Protection Restoration Act of 2002 - currently before the U.S. Senate Judiciary Committee. AUTM has decided to take a position in regards to the bill due to the considerable influence it may have on the technology transfer community in the United States.

The Board approved a letter of response, which best represents the interests of the AUTM membership, and mailed it to the Judiciary Committee on the organization's behalf.
